Assistive Technology Lab
Coastal Area Agency on Aging, in cooperation with Georgia Tech, houses its very own technology lab. The lab is set up like a studio apartment giving individuals the opportunity to actually put their hands on items designed to make everyday life more manageable or leisure time more fun!
Throughout the lab, you will find items to assist people with mobility issues, dementia care, vision loss, communication problems, hearing loss, and much more.
Single or group tours of the lab can be scheduled Monday-Friday. Private consultations are available on Thursdays.
FODAC Medical Equipment Program
Coastal Area Agency on Aging also serves as a delivery site for FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children). This agency, based out of Stone Mountain, GA, cleans and repairs used medical equipment and then disperses it to those in need, free of charge. If you require a piece of medical equipment, you can request it from our office, and we will then request it from FODAC. We can also take your used equipment.
Pick up from our Darien office is required. Call us for more information.
