In Georgia, comprehensive plans must go through a regional and state review to ensure alignment with broader planning goals. The review process can take up to 40 days, so local governments should account for this period when preparing their plans. Submit plan drafts and a transmittal letter to planning@crc.ga.gov, and visit the comprehensive planning page to learn more.
-
The CRC handles the DRI review process for local governments, requiring notification and the submission of a site plan, zoning map, and future land use or character areas map when a development meets the DRI threshold. Local governments cannot take action until the DRI process is complete. Click here to submit a DRI, and visit our DRI page to learn more about the process.
