Our Caregiver Programs and Services
The following programs are designed to support caregivers who are caring for friends or loved ones and at the same time are trying to care for themselves. Due to limited funding, there may be a waiting list for some of these services. Individuals can call the Area Agency on Aging and request a screening to be placed on the list or to receive other resources in their communities.

Caregiver Respite
When a caregiver is in a situation where they cannot get a break from caring for a loved one, their chances of becoming ill themselves are greatly increased. This service provides a substitute caregiver to allow the primary caregiver a few hours of relief from caregiving.
Dealing with Dementia Workshops
These one-day workshops help professional and family caregivers with understanding dementia, managing problem behaviors, and handling the stress that comes with caring for someone with Dementia. One-time consultations are also available.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a six-week educational program designed to provide family caregivers with tools to increase their self-care and confidence. Caregivers meet once a week and learn how to problem-solve, utilize community resources, better manage stress, communicate more effectively, and much more!
Care Consultation
A telephone support program that helps caregivers find resources and practical solutions to caregiving challenges. The program provides telephonic support that helps to reduce caregiver stress. A Certified Care Consultant works with the family caregiver or care receiver over 12 months, introducing tools, resources, and strategies that can improve the caregiving experience.
